Roxy Music 50th Anniversary Tour 2022
ROXY MUSIC ON TOUR AGAIN WITH A MULTISCREEN SETUP
Working with such iconic musicians like Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry have been an incredible experience and I remember very well my first tour with Roxy Music in 2010. Being asked back to contribute content for their 50th anniversary tour was amazing. The show incorporated elements of avant-garde, surrealist, and pop art. Each screen on stage showcased different visuals, ranging from abstract patterns and animations to iconic band images and scenes from classic films.
To bring these ideas to life, I collaborated closely with Ferry Gouw and Matt Arthur. Together, we brainstormed concepts and designs, taking into account Bryan Ferry’s vision and preferences.
Throughout the creative process, we had regular discussions and feedback sessions with Bryan Ferry himself, ensuring that the final product truly reflected his artistic sensibilities and conceptual ideas. The collaboration was enriching, as Ferry’s background as an art student added depth and insight to the overall visual aesthetic.
Additionally, video director Matt Arthur played a crucial role in bringing the visuals to the stage. He ensured that the content seamlessly integrated with the live cameras, lights and notch effects, enhancing the overall atmosphere and providing a captivating visual experience for the audience.
The result was a visually stunning and immersive show that transported audiences through a journey of art movements and film influences. The 13 screen layout allowed for dynamic and immersive storytelling, creating a multi-dimensional experience for concertgoers.
Working with such talented individuals and incorporating Bryan Ferry’s artistic background made this experience truly unique and memorable.
