107 composers manifesting Shared Loneliness live at Stockholm Konserthus

Shared Loneliness – Concert streamed at Stockholm konserthus

The name of the concert says it all: “Shared loneliness”. Here, composers have been able to share their solitary compositional work with other composers and to create something as unusual as a collective composition together. The Association of Swedish Composers (FST) has initiated the project, which began during the first months of the pandemic last spring. The concert was streamed at the Stockholm Concert House with the Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Christian Karlsen and directed by Pia Forsgren. Eight musicians spread across the stage play a work by 107 composers, from Catharina Palmér to Henrik Dahlgren. Each has written 10-15 seconds of music, one has taken after the other and spun a winding musical thread.

The work was divided into three sections, like movements, with the name “Mosaic tales I–III”. The middle one consisting entirely of electronic music, which was visualised by myself as an accompanied audio visualisation piece to the vibrating sound flow with elements of organ clusters, birdsong and instrumental music. Here is 3 minutes showcased of the 9 minute piece.
